Thank you to all who participated in our stair design photo of the month competition! We are excited to share our latest featured stair, a beautiful wooden curve in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina just outside of Charleston.
This stair was constructed for Eastech Property Development, a custom home builder in the Charleston area. The development, Dunes West, is a gated golf course community featuring exercise trails, a racquet club, and additional Lowcountry amenities including boat storage and a crab dock.
Al Mund, General Manager of our Coastal Carolina Division, worked with Eastech to sell this curved stair, and Ken Duerr handled the beautiful design. The staircase was then constructed by our talented team in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Turnkey installation was led by Coastal Carolina team member Chris Mund. This home, like many in coastal regions, is elevated for flood protection. Successful installation of a stair of this size in an elevated structure typically requires the use of a crane. See below for photos of the stair carriage’s journey from our truck to its new home.
Upon completion, the wooden stair will feature paint grade stringers and white oak treads. The accompanying custom handrail system will beautifully accent the stair’s arc with horizontal metal and a white oak rail.
